Mrs Arti Sanghai
 

 

Mrs. Arti Sanghi was born into a Punjabi family in Jammu and was also educated there. She moved to Mumbai in 1969 after her marriage to a Marwari, Mr.Arun Sanghi who is a Partner/Director of Sah &  Sanghi Group of Companies.

Sah & Sanghi Group is one of the well known dealers in India for Cars and Air -conditioners. Sah & Sanghi represents Maruti Suzuki and Carrier Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Ltd. It is the largest Tyre Retreader in Western India with plants in Belgaum and Goa. It also provides ship floorings, sports surfaces and industrial  expoxy  and magnesite floorings.

For several years Arti worked in the family business and has now taken time off to pursue her other interests.

She has been an active member of the Ladies Wing of the IMC and is now on the Executive Committee. She is currently Co Chairman of the Exhibition Committee.

She was President of the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay in 2002 – 2003 one of the largest clubs in India. Inner Wheel Club works for the upliftment of the poor and underprivileged by providing free education, medical aid, rain water harvesting, micro credit etc. Arti has been very active in all these projects and travels often to Panvel where some of the rural projects are concentrated.

She is an active member of Indus International where she served as  the Treasurer from 2006-2008. Indus International organizes talks and demonstrations on various multifarious subjects.

She is on the Executive Management body of   N P C C A,  a citizen’s group concerning issues of Marine Drive and surrounding localities.

She is on the Executive Committee of WOMEN’S INDIA BUILD under Habitat for Humanity which builds homes for the poor and needy.

Arti is a qualified teacher of Sogetsu School of Ikebana. She enjoys Yoga,  Aerobics and Jewellery designing in her spare time and is fascinated by  Religion and Philosophy.
